Warrnambool has many wonderful beaches all within minutes of Ban Kor House. Swim, surf, build sand castles or take an early morning beach stroll. A walk to Thunder Point with its spectacular rocky cliff face and scenic ocean views will delight as will the Penguins on Penguin Island. If you like fishing do not forget to pack your rod as there are so many great places to fish both sea and river and boat hire is available should you wish to venture out or drop a line form the breakwater and watch the fishing boats sail in and out of the harbour.

A promenade walkway commences from the breakwater and curves its way along the beachside and is a very popular facility on the foreshore. Historic walks and trails also provide hours of fun and information on the regions history and attractions and can be enjoyed by all ages.
Walk and trail maps are available to assist you on your journeys.

Providing a stimulating contrast to the coastal scenery are the natural reserves and parks close to Warrnambool. Tower Hill State Game Reserve is set only 15 minutes from Warrnambool and is Victoria's largest extinct volcano. Abundant wildlife including kangaroos, koalas, emu and birds make Tower Hill their home.
Ralph Illidge Sanctuary and Mt. Eccles National Park are also within easy days travel.

A wonderful FREE attraction for all the family. FREE cheese tasting of locally made cheeses are a feature, along with a wine and local produce cellar. A museum featuring information on local farming history is sure to delight.
A fully licensed restaurant is situated at Cheese World which is open 7 days a week.

Warrnambool's premier attraction. A recreated 1850's fishing village complete with harbour and sailing ships. Climb aboard ships and up the lighthouse, see adventure films in the theatre, whale displays and many dwellings depicting lifestyles of yesteryear. A visit to Flagstaff Hill would not be complete without viewing the famous Loch Ard Peacock and listening to the tail of the Loch Ard shipwreck at the magnificent Sound and Light show which is on nightly.
Flagstaff Hill is open 7 days a week.
